Evaluating Our Heart Posture: Do We Truly Fear the LORD?

I rarely share my dreams, but I feel compelled to share one from last night. Let me first tell you about

one of my prayer point last week: I asked God to give me the grace to be a soul winner for His Kingdom. My heart's deepest desire is to see people come out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Now, let's get to the dream, which I believe is a direct response to my prayer request.

In my dream, I was transported to witness the second death: "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." (Revelation 20:14, KJV). It was the worst thing I have ever seen or smelled. My heart was and is still grieved. Those images are ingrained in my memory, and this is why I am sharing this.

As many of you know, I not only work but also volunteer in hospice care. Hospice aims to make the end of life and the dying process comfortable for both the patient and their family. We administer medications to address specific needs, allowing people to transition with dignity and grace. However, let us make no mistake: there is a second death where there will be no drugs to provide comfort or dignity. I watched as the souls of mankind paid the price for the life they lived. The most heartbreaking part was that these were people who KNEW Christ. In their lifetime, they were known as believers, busy doing the things of God, but a person can be busy with their own agenda. We look and judge with the naked eye, but God alone knows the heart of a person. That’s why you cannot believe everyone and everything; you must test the spirit by the Spirit. Many people call themselves believers and Christians, but their hearts are far from the Father.

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." (2 Timothy 3:5, KJV). It was difficult to see such pain and know that nothing could be done for them. They knew the truth and chose another path. We must also hold up the mirror to our own hearts and examine them because if truth be told, we could be the very people from my dream.

  • Which path are you on?

  • Are you SURE of YOUR salvation?

  • What drives YOUR passion and pursuits?

  • Are YOU truly surrendered to God?

I must remind you that there is no remembrance of Him in the grave: "For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?" (Psalm 6:5, KJV). Therefore, this is our opportunity: "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near." (Isaiah 55:6, KJV).

Do not be deceived and give your blind loyalty to those who are perishing, lest you perish with them. Many people are saying and doing what appears to be the right thing, but God is not in it AT ALL. "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." (Philippians 2:12, KJV).

This second death is real, and it will happen. Do not ignore this warning. It’s time to turn your heart back to God. Cry out to Him for mercy and be obedient to Him. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 14:12, KJV).

May God have mercy on our souls.
